Takamura is a small knife shop located in Echizen City, Japan run by third generation blacksmith Terukazu Takamura who inherited the business from his father. One of the first knife makers to begin using R2 steel which has been steadily gaining a reputation for its great edge retention. These knives are razor thin and are highly regarded in the chef world for their outstanding performance.
The Gyuto is the Japanese equivalent to a standard chef's knife. Great for chopping vegetable's, slicing meat and pretty much anything else you can throw at it. Every professional cook should have one of these in their kit.
